I bought a server about a month ago with no server experience just as a side hobby and it is getting a decent amount of hits as it is one of the only 8 survivor coop servers in Australia and also runs custom maps It runs windows because it is cheaper and for that reason it sometimes crashes due to having to use plugins other than the mainstream l4downtown2 to get >4survs because that is L4D2 Sound File Location For EXTRACTION. I'am using GCFscape to extract game sound. Usually in other valve games once you go to the common folder and open a game like Half life 2, Counter strke, or Team Fortress 2 you just click the folder with the abreviated game like hl2, tf2, and so on. Go into your control panel and audio settings. Make sure your defalt input device is set to the jack you want to use. My comp has two jacks; one in front and one in back so I had to change my settings to use the front jack by default. Also while you're in those settings check the mic levels and make sure everything is ok and not muted or anything.
